Well we new that weather was going to be good over the weekend and James was thinking about driving for hrs but then the smell of his engine made him rethink his plans. So the plan was made and six powered birdmen went to Holmbeck farm near Wing to get some power flying.
James was 1st off on his new engine and as he fly round we could see that it was thermic and that his thrust line needs a tweak. Next Jack took off on his 1st flight of the yr after James heckled all from above telling us to get a move on!. I was last to fly as I waited a bit to see how the day would develop and soon some puffy clouds were spotted. James and Jack flew together but then James had an engine out. James was downwind and manged to get nearly back to our take off area. He skillfully moved round bushes and trees and did a perfect landing in a close by field. Roger then went and help James get the kit back to the lauch point.
Myself coming into land from my 1st flight of yr picture supplied by Jack Clark
I think the best thing was that we all got together. Sometimes Paramotoring can be lonely as you turn up and fly but with a group it makes for a great day out and with a site that takes a NE only 30 mins from MK thats a bonus too! |
